Jeremy Quin votes against better GP access for Horsham residents
Horsham’s Conservative MP, Jeremy Quin, has voted against a Liberal Democrat amendment which would have committed the government to patients having a legal right to see their GP within a week, or 24-hours if urgent.
Jeremy resigned as a government minister in order to focus on Horsham’s needs, according to his statement. Yet in the first significant vote just a few days later he continues to follow the party line, as he has done throughout his career, without regard to the interests of local residents.
Horsham Liberal Democrat spokesperson, John Milne said:
‘Having left his cabinet position to ‘focus on projects in his town’, as he put it, Jeremy Quin’s first act is to show a callous disregard for his constituents. Horsham deserves local health services that provide the care people need, instead of being forced to wait for weeks on end for a GP appointment.
Jeremy can no longer make the excuse that he’s bound by Cabinet collective responsibility. This zombie Conservative government has run our NHS into the ground and Jeremy Quin continues to blindly back the party line.’
