Horsham Lib Dems re-select 5 sitting councillors for Denne and Roffey North wards

2 Feb 2023

The Horsham Liberal Democrats have made their selections for Roffey North and Denne Wards, ready for the upcoming Horsham District Council elections in May 2023.

Cllrs Ruth Fletcher and Clive Trott will stand again in Denne and will be joined by Cllr John Milne. John currently represents Roffey North as a district councillor as well as Horsham Riverside, which includes much of Denne, as a County Councillor.

Cllr Tony Bevis will stand again in Roffey North, and will be joined by Cllr Belinda Walters, who currently represents Denne.

Cllr John Milne said:

“We need genuine answers for all the traffic, flooding and speeding issues that never seem to get fixed. As what they call a ‘double hatter’ – a dual district and county councillor - I get to see where the gaps are between the two levels of government. There’s so much more we can do!”

Meanwhile, Cllr Walters’ move to Roffey North will help her to represent residents closer to home.

Cllr Belinda Walters said:

“I have lived in and around Horsham all my life. As a councillor, I have been able to be a voice for Horsham Residents. I welcome the opportunity to represent my neighbours and neighbourhood in Roffey North where I grew up. I am delighted I can bring my personal knowledge of the area to help resolve issues.”

Horsham District Lib Dem Group Leader, Cllr Martin Boffey (Trafalgar) added:

“We currently have a strong team of 13, dedicated councillors, who work hard for our residents all year round. I am looking forward to seeing our group return experienced councillors, and being joined by new Lib Dem councillors, who can bring even more new ideas to the table – something the current, stale and tired Conservative Cabinet has stopped doing.”

Horsham Liberal Democrats will continue to announce their full slate of 48 candidates for all 22 wards across the district over the next few weeks.
